I bought this bed a year ago April 2019 for my senior dog and his aching bones. He liked it immediately. I was impressed because, like many of you, i have bought things for my dog according to the size requirements, and received too many that were just too small. This time I sized up. Zissou is 50 lbs and i bought the jumbo. It’s HUGE. The large would have been more than fine.Since then, we have moved twice and the bed has come with us. We often put it in the car when we are traveling with the dog. We even got a puppy a few weeks ago. The puppy steals the bed all the time. We just bought a stylish bed from Paw.com and while both dogs like that bed, the bed they choose first is the Furhaven. There’s something about the shape that all dogs love.I have washed it a few times and it’s super easy to zip off and on. Zero complaints. For the price, this is a FANTASTIC dog bed. Highly highly recommend. No holes so far, but chewing hasn’t been challenged in our situation.
My old man of a dog loves it and gets extremely pouty when the little puppy takes his soft bed. He’s an Anatolian shepherd with arthritis. He’s about 100lbs, shaped like a giant potato held up by toothpicks for legs and a normal sized head affixed to the large potato body. So the soft gel bed helps ease his old bones. It does nothing to make the annoying little chocolate lab puppy leave him alone. He just lays there like he’s dead while she chews on his ear. I think it’s because the bed is so comfortable that he just doesn’t care that a puppy is chewing on his ear. Until she bites too hard and then he gets cranky. I’ve personally sat and laid on the bed with him to keep the dadgum puppy from mauling him relentlessly to play. It’s darn soft!!! I would use it for myself were I in need of a soft pad to sit on the floor. I have a very happy potato dog! I tried getting one for the little puppy but she’s too stupid to figure out what beds are for and destroys it in about five minutes. Then she looks at me like I’m a terrible person for making her sleep on the hard floor of her crate every night with nothing to keep her warm or lay on. She’s half retarded, and the other half is just dumb. So it’s not a good purchase for the retarded dog types. It leaves a ridiculous mess when they tear it up!!! I’d rather just get her one filled with that poofy fuzzy stuff so she can sleep on it once then get mad at it for keeping her warm and comfy all night then destroy it with all the vengeance and fury of a 6 month old chocolate lab. Have you ever seen a lab puppy destroy things?! Possibly the most destructive force on earth if I had to guess. On a side note; contact me if you’re interested in a new puppy. House trained and well behaved. Great hunting dog potential.
I adopted a 10 yr old Cocker Spaniel a month ago. Today, I received this bed (I had to wait for the price to return to affordable. It spiked $15 after I put it in my cart). Before it was unfolded, he was in it, and he's been in it ever since, except when he's following me around the house! How'd he know it was for him? ;) I put the blanket in so he'd have something to paw at, rather than the cover. The cover is very soft yet the material feels sturdy. The memory foam is unbelievable - at 35lbs he won't 'bottom out' on it. I even fell asleep with my head and shoulders in there with him! I got the Large so he'd have room to position himself anyway he wants, it's twice as big as he is. He hasn't been in the med size 'cave bed' since. I'm so happy this is a quality item! Highly recommended by Romeo!
Was looking for a orthopedic dog bed for my 6+ year Great Pyrenees foster who has arthritis, after hours of research, I decided on this one as it seemed like the best fit for her needs as she is large and prefers to sleep laying flat over curled up. She is 82lbs, and the Jumbo size is perfect for her. This girl came from a neglected background and didn't understand what a bed was. She never showed interest in any of the others I have, but I wanted to give this a try as laying on just a rug wasn't enough to support her joints. When the box arrived, she was so excited like she knew it was for her, and seconds after this bed came out of the box she was laying on it, minutes later sound asleep and the happiest I had ever seen her! Not only was this bed an instant love for her, it has remained so over the last three weeks since it arrived. In that time I have washed the cover, and had no issues with doing that, and the top is super soft and comfy! It is just as it's listed, a solid piece of foam that is very supportive and doesn't give under the weight of your pup. Quality is great, my girl will dig at the bed to get comfy and the cover has held up perfectly. Without a doubt gets 5 stars from me, and her!
This bed suits my 80 lb German Shepherd nicely. It's a nice size for her to curl up on and the memory foam is surprisingly thick. I chose the cream to match her hair color and the fabric is soft and plush. The bed does have a removable washable cover as stated in the description. My dog likes to lie on her side, legs stretched out, and this bed is not quite large enough for that. I would definitely purchase a larger size were it available.
