- BABY MONITOR SOUND ALARM MODE, SHARING & ALEXA - Turn your Amcrest Smart Home camera into an adjustable VOX audio monitor to listen, view, and be notified based on adjustable sound thresholds (such as baby crying, or a dog barking decibel levels). You can enable this mode directly from the live-view screen of the app. Works perfectly as a baby monitor or pet/dog camera and can be shared with multiple family members so everyone can have access to the live video and recordings. Works with Alexa.
- AI CHIPSET & HUMAN DETECTION This is our most technologically advanced, smallest form factor, and best low light 1080p WIFI camera yet. Unlike our competitors, our AI/human detection is built-in directly on the chipset (hardware ASIC) and thus doesn't require a cloud access subscription to operate. The ASH21 features Smart Tracking allows the camera to track objects in motion. When enabled the camera will begin to automatically record and follow the object in motion.
- INTELLIGENT ALERTS, STORAGE OPTIONS Receive motion alerts via email or push notification & instantly review recordings directly from your phone using the Amcrest Smart Home app. Human detection filtering reduces false alerts. Store your footage remotely on the Amcrest Smart Home Cloud or locally to a class 10 MicroSD card up to 256GB. Also compatible with Amcrest NVRs and 3rd party software through SDK integration. (Limited compatibility w/ Amcrest View Pro, not compatible w/ Amcrest Cloud).
I have received and have been testing the Amcrest AI powered smart home Wi-Fi camera for about three weeks now. I currently have six of the original Wi-Fi indoor cameras and two of the Wi-Fi outdoor cameras from Amcrest that I’ve had for five + years. Love them all!I was pleasantly surprised by the design of this new camera. It’s much smaller and sleeker than my other cameras. The compact design means I can put the camera in smaller areas around my home. The only disappointment that I had was that it came with a white power cord rather than a black power cord. I ordered the black camera hoping that it would have a black cord like the others because it's much easier to hide. It was also a bit shorter than the last cord that I received for the 4MP UltraHD Indoor camera. That cord was 9.5 feet long. The difference in length just means it prohibits me from using it in certain areas.I found the set up of the new camera to be very easy and the instructions simple to follow. My other 8 cameras are all operating on the Amcrest ViewPro app, but I couldn't get this camera to load into that app. I had to use the Amcrest SmartHome app. While this app is simple to use with a nice design...it causes some issues because I now have to view 8 of my cameras on one app, and this one on the SmartHome app. I contacted customer support and they were quick to respond and very helpful. They provided instructions on how to connect the camera to the Pro app and it works perfectly now.As far as the SmartHome app goes, it was easy to figure out how to set up the motion detection schedule. A minor issue is that I can't figure out how to change the 24 hour time back to 12 hour. I've also found that the notifications come in faster.Once I had the motion detection set up with the human detection and smart tracking features enabled....WOW...I was SO IMPRESSED. This is exactly what I need for my front hall/door monitoring camera. My current camera will detect my cat moving across the path multiple times a day. While I enjoy seeing her, it's really not the purpose of this camera. I want to be notified if a person enters my home or walks across the field of view. I also love the smart tracking feature. The fact that it returns to it's original position once the object has moved past is brilliant. Sometimes the person moving past is too quick and it can't track, but overall it's a great feature. The privacy mode is also a nice addition. It would be a great added feature (unless maybe I just can't find it) to have a schedule setting for privacy mode. A privacy mode schedule would allow me to have that setting occur every day at the same time without having to set it manually. The instructions for the camera indicate that an SD card can be used, but it doesn't say where the card is. It is partially hidden when the camera is facing forward. Rotate the camera straight up and it's on the base of that sphere. There was also the implication that moving the camera would require a new setup, but I have moved mine several times this week...even leaving it unplugged for several hours...and it still comes back on and shows up in the app with no issues.
After trying many cameras that claim to have "AI Human Detection Motion Push Alerts", this Amcrest camera truly lives up to their promise. With this camera you have the option to have all general motion detection alerts pushed to your smartphone or just human motion detection alerts. The algorithm so far has been spot on with distinguishing the difference and the push notification is instant. With Wyze cam losing their current AI Human Detection algorithm and the future abilities of the feature on their cams unknown as of now, this feature is critical for me to be able to react to human motion in real time with out having to worry about getting constantly bumbarded with false motion notifications. Great job on the AI on this one Armcrest, you launched this camera at exactly the right time to so I don't miss a beat with my home security monitoring.Edit: A good High speed Micro SD card preferably 246 gb is a must for good data transfer rates and viewing recorded content. Lastly, picture quality is great.
I purchased the baby monitor from and received it very quickly, approx 9 days ago. I have to say, I give this camera a resounding 9/10 rating. I have used several baby monitor cameras at this point, ranging from $25-$200 and this one is by far my favorite. I have a 16 month old child and another little one on the way, and this camera is one that we will definitely purchase more of to use with the new baby and perhaps the playroom.Pros - -Great HD Video quality, fast loading timeWorks really well with Alexa devices with a screen, fast load and great quality picture, totally replaces any need for a dedicated monitor. I have it set up so that anyone can simply say "Alexa, show me the nursery" and the picture loads in seconds.-Ability to pan camera remotely-Can view up to 4 videos at once (see attached photo)-Panning is great when camera sitting upright, get a great visual of entire room with one drawback (see below)-Can listen in on baby without video when in baby monitor mode, effectively creating an audio monitor out of your phone.Cons - -When the camera is sitting upright, I would like to see the panning ability go further down. If sitting on a table next to the crib, it is difficult to actually see in the crib because it has to sit higher in order to see above the crib rails.-When the camera is attached to the wall, it limits the panning ability to up/down. What I mean by this is if the camera is attached at a 90 degree angle, when you pan up to see across the room, you can no longer pan left and right because the top spins on an axis. I would really like to have a better view of the room when the camera is mounted, given that it has to be in order to see into the crib properly.-When away from home and off wifi (for instance, when driving) and service is not great, camera not great at loading quickly and gets stuck in the 90-99% range. Wishlist: -When opening the app, having the option to default to baby monitor mode AND-When in baby monitor mode, having the ability to save the squelch and alarm lines and have them cached for next useOverall, I love this camera. I will definitely buy more of these based on its compatibility with Alexa and great quality HD video. Disclaimer, I did not travel with this camera, so I don't know how easily it connects when on different wifis, but setup on home Wifi was very easy.
I got this camera to use as a baby monitor. Set up was ridiculously easy. I set it up and had it running in under 5 minutes which was great.I love the ability to select the area you want it to alert you for motion. That saves me from false triggers of my dog jumps on the part of the bed that is showing in the video. In the baby monitor mode I also love that you can set how loud the sound has to be to trigger the alarm. My dryer is in the adjoining bathroom and my previous monitor from a different brand when it would work, it would trigger from that slight noise, so this is so nice that I can adjust. Another love is the fact that I can listen to the audio, and then switch apps or even lock my phone, and still hear the monitor. It’s a good quality, clear camera, but not the kind of camera where you can count your child’s eyelashes if you want that, but it is clear. I can see her breathing and see if her eyes are open or if she’s in trouble, which is all I care about. I took a zoomed in screenshot on hd so you could see the quality.I set it up also as a room security camera when we were not home and turned on motion tracking. I forgot to turn it off before we got home and I got a motion alert the second I walked in the door. And then every time I looked over at it, no mater where I moved to in the room, it silently had moved to point directly at me.I haven’t bought multiple cameras yet, but I love how easy it seems to set up and view multiple cameras. It is nice that there is an Ethernet cable if you needed (or wanted) to do that instead of WiFi but I opted for using WiFi.I got this camera as part of a promotion to give my opinion to the company, and this is my honest review of it. I will buy more of this camera in the future to add monitoring of other rooms in my house for security.
-Quality: 10/10-Value: 9/10-Recommendation: 10/10-Features: 10/10-Overall: 10/10Pros: Easy to Setup, Solid Packaging, Lots of Features, SD Card option, Baby Monitor option, Good Infrared Night VisionAdvice: Have the option to disable camera voice(When it connects to your network), Add a free basic cloud storage option, Have the ability to add the camera to Amcrest View Pro, include the option to view through a computer web browser, Add permanent HD mode(App defaults to SD mode every time you view the camera)Review: I have a few different smart camera around the house but needed one that is reliable and has a good build quality hence I decided to get this camera. I have multiple Amcrest IP cameras that have been very reliable and I love the ability to control them all under one streamlined app. This camera does not disappoint, even though I was bummed out that it does not use the Amcrest View Pro and I had to download another app from Amcrest(Amcrest Smarthome). The camera has lots of features like AI Human Detection, 360 views, 1080P HD Resolution, Smart Tracking, and two-way audio and some nifty Baby Monitoring options. I have tested out most of the options and can say that it's been pretty solid so far. I like the fact that you can use an SD card to store all the data in there, which is awesome if you decide not to use their cloud storage functionality. You can add an sd card up to 256 GB of capacity which is great and will easily record days of recording. There is also a cloud storage option you can choose but that costs money and I wish they had a basic free option to choose from. Another thing I found out that the camera talks out loud every time it connects to your network or if you restart it. I hope they push in an update so that we can disable this option. A big feature of this camera is Baby Monitoring and the last thing you need is the camera screaming it connected to your network. Having said that there is an option under "Video Settings" I have found where you can lower the volume of the camera's speaker and that will significantly reduce the volume. You also have the option of the camera emailing you notifications if it detects any motion, which is pretty good and I have not seen it in other smart cameras in this category. You can check all the motion triggers and recordings under the "Events" section in the app which is categorized pretty well. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this camera.
